Match sign Up will start at 9:15, after set up is complete
Position preference given to those that help set up on a first come basis. (Line up in the order you arrived)
You may only sign up a partner/spotter if they are present.
Requests to hold a spot will be accepted but not guaranteed
If not happy with available starting positions you may try working a switch with another shooter
NRA rules apply, Total of 40 rounds
Equipment Required:
Eye and ear protection
Any lever action rifle with a tubular magazine and an iron sight, chambered for a pistol caliber cartridge (.22, .22 mag, 25-20, 32-20, .357 mag, .44-40, .44 mag, and 45 long colt.
Helpful Equipment:
A timer, binoculars (no spotting scopes), a shotgun (not silhouette) vest, clipboard and pencil
Ammunition:
Appropriate for rifle. No ball ammo or Full Metal Jacket. Although mag cases can be used for reloads, they must be loaded down to special velocity to avoid target damage. For commercial rounds must use .38 special and .44 special.
Course of fire:
20 minute sight in period prior to start of match.
10 rds. ea. at 40 (chickens), 60 (pigs), 77 (turkeys) & 100 (rams) yards.
All shots fired from the offhand (standing) position
Each animal is shot in banks of five. You will have a 30 second ready period to; load, shoulder and aim your rifle and 2 minutes to shoot 5 shots, one shot at each of the 5 animals. After a 30 second rest period you will repeat five shots on the second bank of five animals
When shooting is completed make your sight adjustments for the next animal. The range will be made safe and you will reset and paint any animals that were knocked over. When you return and the range is closed you will spot/score for the next relay. Once all relays are shot you will move to the next animal in the order; chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams
